Role Description This is a full-time remote Estimator role responsible for preparing accurate cost estimates for concrete construction projects. The Estimator will review plans, specifications, and related documents to quantify labor, materials, and equipment needs. Daily tasks include performing takeoffs, obtaining and analyzing vendor and subcontractor quotes, and preparing detailed bid proposals and budgets. The Estimator will collaborate with project managers and operations teams to refine estimates, adjust to scope changes, and support value engineering options. The role also involves maintaining estimating databases, tracking historical cost data, and participating in bid reviews and client discussions as needed.
Qualifications
- Strong skills in reading and interpreting construction drawings, specifications, and related documents.
- Proficiency with estimating and takeoff software, as well as Microsoft Excel or similar spreadsheet tools.
- Understanding of concrete construction methods, materials, labor productivity, and equipment requirements.
- Strong analytical, numerical, and problem-solving skills with attention to detail and accuracy.
- Effective written and verbal communication skills for working with internal teams, vendors, and clients.
- Ability to organize workload, meet bid deadlines, and manage multiple estimates in a remote environment.
- Experience as an estimator or in a related construction role (concrete experience strongly preferred).
- Associate or bachelor’s degree in construction management, engineering, or a related field, or equivalent relevant experience.
- Familiarity with cost databases, market pricing, and competitive bid processes.
