Atmus Filtration Technologies is on the lookout for a dynamic and results-driven Account Manager to lead a team of Account Specialists supporting the Cummins account. This role is perfect for a strong leader with a passion for customer relationships, problem-solving, and strategic growth. You’ll manage both OE first-fit and Aftermarket business, ensuring timely resolutions, leading new product introductions, and driving cost-saving initiatives. Ideal candidates are located in the Indianapolis or Columbus, IN areas.
You’ll be the go-to expert in managing customer escalations, solving delivery issues, and ensuring that Cummins’ business thrives through innovative solutions and continuous relationship-building. Your leadership will help shape a high-performance team and contribute to the success of one of our key accounts.
Responsibilities
- Lead & Grow the Business: Develop and nurture strong relationships with key stakeholders at Cummins, ensuring alignment with their goals and expanding Atmus’ footprint across various business segments.
- Customer-Centric Solutions: Identify and address customer needs, using your deep industry knowledge and technical expertise to propose tailored solutions that enhance Cummins' operations and boost business growth.
- Team Leadership & Collaboration: Lead a talented team of Account Specialists, ensuring smooth day-to-day operations and collaboration with both internal and external teams. Foster a culture of innovation, accountability, and high performance.
- Escalation & Issue Resolution: Manage and resolve customer escalations swiftly, ensuring customer satisfaction and maintaining positive relationships even under pressure.
- Drive New Product Introductions (NPIs): Lead cross-functional teams to ensure timely and successful new product introductions, meeting all customer timelines and specifications.
- Strategic Account Management: Develop, execute, and track account strategies that align with customer business models and enhance Cummins’ market share. This includes everything from negotiating contracts to identifying cost-reduction opportunities.
- Customer Satisfaction & Growth: Champion the voice of the customer within Atmus, regularly measuring customer satisfaction and implementing improvements that maximize value for Cummins and grow our business together.
- Mentor & Develop Talent: Coach, motivate, and guide your team members to grow professionally, set clear goals, and improve performance. Inspire them to go beyond their limits while ensuring they have the skills to succeed.
Education
- College, university, or equivalent degree in Marketing, Sales, technical or a related subject or an acceptable combination of education and experience required. This position may require licensing for compliance with export controls or sanctions regulations.
Experience
- Proven experience in account management, sales, or customer relationship management, ideally in the industrial, filtration, or automotive sectors.
- Previous experience managing global or complex accounts is a plus.
Skills
- 10-12 years of corporate sales experience, Tier 1 or OEM customers.
- 5 years of strong leadership skills and experience managing cross-functional teams
- Purchasing/commercial contract negotiation preferred.
- Exceptional communication and negotiation abilities
- Deep understanding of customer needs and technical solutions
- Expertise in sales forecasting, pipeline management, and account planning
- Ability to think strategically while executing on the day-to-day
- Proficient in Salesforce, Microsoft Excel, and other business tools.
