Job Overview
Atmos Solutions, Inc is seeking qualified individuals who are interested in contract teaching. Instruction will include both classroom and hands-on activities and may include courses with some hybrid components.
Job Summary
The purpose of this position is to demonstrate skill, knowledge, and abilities in the teaching discipline of Plumbing. Demonstrated understanding of apprenticeship and industrial occupations requirements, and ability to use NCCER Apprenticeship training curriculum. Customer oriented and student-centered experience preferably in an academic advising capacity.
Minimum Qualifications
High School Diploma with Plumbing Certification
An associate degree AND 5 years of occupational experience related to the subject of the course taught; OR
Have completed a vocational training program in Plumbing with more than 10 years in the construction industry; OR
A Journeyman Plumber with more than 15 years in the construction industry; OR
The combination of any of the above two.
Knowledge of:
· Considerable knowledge of the principles and practices of adult education
· Knowledge of instructional planning
· Knowledge of local, state, and federal laws impacting assigned program.
Skills:
· Skilled in Microsoft office and PowerPoint
Ability to:
· Ability to maintain appropriate professional relationships with students, colleagues, and the community
· Ability to work with ethnically and culturally diverse populations.
· Ability to operate a variety of office equipment.
· Ability to effectively communicate in oral and written form.
· Ability review blueprints to understand the scope of the project
· Ability to teach the importance and demonstrate how to clean, maintain, and store tools and equipment properly
Responsibilities
- Maintain daily attendance rosters and classroom environment that promotes teaching and learning
- Make continuous efforts to advance the quality of instruction
- Develop and use a variety of teaching methods and materials to assist students who have differing educational and experimental backgrounds in meeting the course outcome
- Evaluate students to measure their progress toward achievement of stated course outcomes within the program grade
- Review, evaluate, recommend, and effectively use student learning materials
- Facilitate a clear understanding between students and instructor of the content, goals, requirements, expectations, evaluation method and schedule of work
- Read and interpret blueprints, specifications, shop drawings, schematic manufacturer’s specifications, and other reference materials to determine appropriate job requirements and procedures
Physical demands:
· Ability to lift up-to-50lbs
· Evening and weekend work will be required
