Duties
- Manage escrow accounts for real estate transactions, ensuring accurate documentation and timely disbursements
- Review and verify loan documents, contracts, title reports, and related paperwork for completeness and compliance
- Coordinate with lenders, real estate agents, attorneys, and clients to facilitate smooth transaction progress
- Ensure adherence to all applicable regulations including TILA (Truth in Lending Act), Fair Housing laws, and other federal or state guidelines
- Conduct thorough credit analysis and underwriting procedures to assess borrower eligibility and risk factors
- Process loan applications from initiation through closing, including FNMA (Fannie Mae) guidelines and mortgage servicing requirements
- Prepare escrow instructions, closing disclosures, settlement statements, and other necessary documentation with precision
- Oversee the escrow closing process, ensuring all contractual obligations are met before disbursing funds
- Maintain detailed records of all transactions using 10-key typing skills and basic math for accurate calculations
- Stay updated on industry standards such as loan origination procedures, banking regulations, and mortgage laws to ensure compliance
Skills
- Strong knowledge of FNMA guidelines, underwriting processes, and loan origination procedures
- Proficiency in mortgage servicing practices and credit analysis techniques
- Familiarity with TILA regulations, contracts law, and fair housing regulations to ensure legal compliance
- Experience in escrow management within the financial services or banking sectors
- Excellent math skills including basic calculations necessary for loan processing and escrow account management
- Ability to perform 10-key typing efficiently for data entry tasks
- Strong organizational skills with attention to detail in handling multiple transactions simultaneously
- Effective communication skills to coordinate with various stakeholders involved in real estate closings
