This role will play a critical part in ensuring data integrity, reliability, and performance across our reporting and analytics environment. The ideal candidate will combine front-end user testing skills (Power BI Service navigation, validating report usability) with back-end data validation (SQL queries, pipeline testing, data model checks). Key Responsibilities QA Strategy & Execution Develop and implement QA strategies for data workflows, pipelines, and models within Microsoft Fabric. Establish repeatable testing processes to validate data quality, consistency, and accuracy across Power BI reports and semantic models. Testing & Validation Test Power BI Service functionality, including navigation, permissions, and user interactions. Validate front-end report outputs and ensure consistency with underlying data sources. Query SQL backend sources to confirm data accuracy, transformations, and performance. Compare legacy vs. Fabric environments to ensure identical functionality and results. Automation & Documentation Design and manage automated testing processes for pipelines, models, and integrations. Document test cases, scenarios, and outcomes in a clear, reproducible manner. Track and report quality metrics, ensuring SLAs for data availability and accuracy are met. Collaboration & Issue Resolution Work closely with Business Analysts, Power BI Developers, Data Engineers, Modelers, and Governance Specialists to uphold data quality standards. Conduct root cause analysis for data-related issues and coordinate resolution efforts. Recommend improvements in testing frameworks, methodologies, and tools. Required Skills & Experience Proven experience in Power BI Service testing, including navigation, permissions, and report validation. Ability to query SQL databases for back-end validation and issue troubleshooting. Comfort with Excel (pivot tables, lookups, comparisons) for validation and analysis. Strong understanding of data quality principles (completeness, accuracy, consistency). Familiarity with Microsoft Fabric and Azure environments. Knowledge of automated testing frameworks for data pipelines and integrations. Experience in defining, tracking, and reporting QA and data quality metrics. Strong documentation skills to create clear and repeatable test cases. Preferred Qualifications Hands-on experience testing data migrations to Microsoft Fabric. Familiarity with Azure security protocols and governance frameworks. Prior experience in root cause analysis for complex data/reporting issues. Exposure to continuous integration/continuous testing (CI/CT) practices.
