This is a highly visible role that provides critical technical expertise across a range of products and business functions. The ideal candidate is a proactive, solution-oriented accounting leader who thrives in a collaborative, fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Advise corporate development, investment, and executive teams on the accounting and capital implications of new and prospective transactions.
• Collaborate with the investment front office and third-party cedants to structure and document appropriate accounting policies for new and evolving investment vehicles.
• Monitor and interpret emerging accounting and regulatory developments across all applicable frameworks, providing timely insights and strategic guidance.
• Review and enhance accounting policies, business processes, and internal controls to ensure they align with evolving business needs and regulatory requirements.
• Lead the implementation of new accounting standards and regulatory changes in collaboration with financial reporting, actuarial, investment accounting, and other key stakeholders.
• Maintain and evolve the firm’s accounting policy documentation for a wide array of investment classes and liabilities, including variable annuities, fixed indexed annuities, payout annuities, and universal life products.

Qualifications

• CPA required; advanced degree or relevant certifications (e.g., CFA, FRM) preferred.
• 7 years of progressive experience in accounting policy, technical accounting, or financial reporting.
• Deep understanding of multiple accounting frameworks including US GAAP, statutory accounting
• Strong experience with insurance and investment products; exposure to reinsurance and structured products a plus.
• Proven ability to analyze complex transactions and communicate implications to both technical and non-technical audiences.
• Exceptional communication, leadership, and cross-functional collaboration skills.
• Experience managing and driving change across diverse geographic and regulatory environments.
