Position Overview
As an Ultrasound Technologist, you will be responsible for performing diagnostic ultrasound examinations while ensuring patient safety, comfort, and quality care throughout the imaging process. This role requires attention to detail, technical proficiency, and a commitment to maintaining high imaging standards.
Responsibilities
- Perform diagnostic ultrasound procedures according to physician orders and departmental protocols
- Operate ultrasound equipment to obtain high-quality diagnostic images
- Review patient history and verify examination requests prior to imaging procedures
- Explain procedures and ensure patient comfort throughout examinations
- Maintain accurate patient records and imaging documentation
- Follow all infection control, safety, and departmental policies and procedures
- Collaborate with physicians, radiologists, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to support quality patient care
- Monitor and maintain ultrasound equipment and report operational concerns as needed
Requirements
- Minimum of 2 years of Ultrasound Technologist experience required
- Associate's Degree in Diagnostic Medical Technology; OR
- High School Diploma/GED and successful completion of an accredited Ultrasound/Sonography Technical Training Program
- ARDMS Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer (RDMS) certification required
- Current BLS Certification required
