What You’ll Do
Provide strategic leadership and direction for assigned operational departments by establishing clear priorities, monitoring departmental performance, and ensuring alignment with organizational goals. Lead cross-functional operational initiatives that improve efficiency, effectiveness, and service delivery while fostering collaboration across departments. Coach, develop, and evaluate direct reports, building leadership capacity and accountability throughout the organization. Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs), identify opportunities for continuous improvement, recommend operational enhancements, and provide regular updates to the Chief Executive Officer regarding departmental performance, organizational risks, and progress toward strategic priorities.
Supervisory Responsibilities
- This role will serve as the direct supervisor to the Director of Facilities, Director of Athletics, IT Manager, School Security Manager, and Transportation Manager.
Cross-Campus & Interdepartmental Coordination
- Provides strategic coordination across school-based teams and Operations departments by aligning personnel, resources, schedules, and operational services to ensure the successful delivery of school programs, events, and daily campus operations.
School Nutrition
- Oversee school nutrition operations by partnering with School Food Authority (SFA) to ensure annual meal application completion, and on-site Food Service Director to ensure high-quality meal service, compliance, and operational effectiveness.
Transportation Services
- Supervise the Transportation Manager to ensure safe, efficient, and compliant transportation services, including oversight of contracted transportation providers, route effectiveness, and operational performance.
Facilities & Custodial Services
- Supervise the Director of Facilities to ensure safe, clean, and well-maintained learning environments through effective facilities management, preventative maintenance, regulatory compliance, and long-term operational planning.
IT Department Supervision
- Supervise the IT Manager to ensure reliable, secure, and efficient technology systems and services that support student learning, organizational operations, cybersecurity, and long-term technology planning.
School Safety
- Supervise the School Security Manager to ensure comprehensive school safety systems, emergency preparedness, regulatory compliance, and continuous improvement of campus safety through effective protocols, training, drills, and cross-functional collaboration.
School Athletics and After-School Activities Programming
- Supervise the Director of Athletics and Activities to ensure high-quality, compliant, and sustainable athletic and extracurricular programming that promotes student engagement while coordinating operational support across transportation, facilities, health services, and other departments.
Facilities Use & Rentals
- Provide strategic oversight of facilities use and rental processes to ensure efficient scheduling, effective coordination, and equitable access for school, athletic, staff, and community events while maximizing operational efficiency and stewardship of school facilities.
Compensation & Schedule
- Salaried/Exempt
- Signing Bonus: $3,500, with a 1-year commitment
- Annual Salary Range: $92,700 - $110,510 (DOE)
- Full Time; Monday - Friday; Occasional evenings and weekends as needed

Who You Are
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university required.
- A minimum of 8 years of relevant experience in K-12 education, a nonprofit organization, or a similarly complex environment.
- A minimum of 2 years of experience directly supervising employees, including responsibility for coaching, performance management, and professional development.
- Demonstrated experience leading organizational operations, facilities, systems, logistics, and cross-functional processes, with the ability to develop, implement, and continuously improve operational procedures that support organizational effectiveness and long-term strategic goals.
- Experience developing and implementing operational systems, policies, procedures, and performance metrics.
- Proven ability to analyze data and use reports and dashboards to drive operational decision-making.
- Strong project management skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities, timelines, and stakeholders.
- Excellent communication and relationship-building skills with executive leaders, school staff, families, and community partners.
- Proven ability to lead teams with accountability, continuous improvement, and a service-oriented mindset.
- Strong organizational, problem-solving, and independent decision-making skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Google Workspace.
- Ability to pass all required state and federal background checks.
- Possession of, or ability to obtain, a valid Colorado Driver's License.
Desired Qualifications:
- Experience collaborating with school leadership teams to ensure buildings and staff are well-resourced and operational needs are proactively addressed.
- Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel and/or Google Sheets.
Essential Job Functions
- Ability to remain in a stationary position for extended periods while working at a computer, attending meetings, and reviewing documents.
- Ability to frequently move throughout school campuses and operational areas to oversee programs, inspect facilities, and support staff.
- Ability to operate standard office equipment and communicate effectively in person, by telephone, and through virtual platforms.
- Ability to occasionally bend, kneel, reach, climb stairs, and lift or carry up to 25 pounds.
- Ability to travel between school campuses and other work-related locations and safely operate a motor vehicle.
- Ability to occasionally work outdoors and respond to operational needs during evenings, weekends, or emergency situations.
