Field Engineer Primary Responsibilities
- Compiling and publishing daily project reports into the PMIS (Procore)
- Communicating the progress of field activities to the Project Manager and Scheduler
- Communicating scheduling and sequencing expectations to all contractors
- Coordinate (schedule) all required QA testing activities and log QA reports into Procore
- Coordinate and log all material and equipment deliveries; ensure logical and adequate staging is available
- Document all field changes to the Contract Documents (plans and specifications); ensure each contractor is redlining their respective CD’s
- Coordinate field changes with PM and DOR to ensure changes are approved and documented.
- Assess the work requirements and identify the materials needed for a particular task/contract.
- Work closely with project managers to ensure all contractors have a deep understanding of what is required for the project to be successful. This includes creating a blueprint of the project, detailing the technical specifications and financial requirements. By doing so, they can plan for the materials required and avoid unnecessary delays due to a shortage of materials.
- Communicate effectively with clients, colleagues, and anyone else they may encounter on the job. This includes being able to explain technical issues in a clear and concise manner, as well as working well in a team environment.
- Oversee environmental compliance for all permitted equipment to ensure the operation adheres to corporate, state and local regulations.
- Some travel is required to other facilities and equipment vendors as needed.
- Maintains a safe work environment and safety management of all personnel on site
- Minimum three (3) years’ experience in as a practicing Engineer in a construction/design environment.
- Preferred Mechanical/Electrical construction experience.
- Organization-Must have sound organizational skills.
- Communication -Ability to provide relevant and timely information in a clear manner both verbally and in writing.
- Follow Through – Fulfills the requirements of the position as described. Follow-through on completion of assigned tasks in a timely manner. Anticipates what needs to be done and proceeds without direction in a timely manner
- Problem Solving – Ability to think through issues and develop solutions in a timely manner.
- Language-Must be able to speak fluent English.
- Mathematical abilities- advanced arithmetic, statistics, and algebra.
- Advanced reasoning ability- Ability to read and interpret governmental policies and procedures. Ability to present information and respond to questions from employees and all levels of management.
- Competent with Auto CAD, Microsoft Word, Excel, Power Point, Microsoft Project, Internet, Procore, email.
- Must possess an exemplary attention to detail.
- Excellent time management skills
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Manufacturing, or Construction Engineering from an accredited institution.
