What are the responsibilities and job description for the People + Culture Business Partner position at Atlas Restaurant Group?
We’re looking for a dynamic, people-first People Culture Business Partner to join our team and help shape an exceptional employee experience across our restaurant group. In this role, you’ll partner closely with People Culture and Operations leaders to support and grow a culture where every team member feels valued, supported, and set up to thrive. You’ll play a key role across the full employee lifecycle from onboarding and talent development to employee relations and HR systems all while keeping us compliant, thoughtful, and forward-thinking.
This is an office-based role with frequent opportunities to visit and engage with our restaurant teams in Philadelphia, Wilmington, Annapolis, and Rehoboth Beach, building connection and supporting our people where the hospitality happens.
Why This Role Matters
At Atlas, People Culture is not a function. It’s how we lead. And this role is at the center of bringing that to life. As a People Culture Business Partner, you are a trusted advisor to our leaders and a champion for our teams. You help navigate the moments that matter most—hiring the right people, developing leaders, supporting performance, and handling employee relations with care and integrity. As we continue to grow, this role ensures our culture shows up consistently across every restaurant, every team, every shift. You help translate our values into action and create an environment where people feel supported, seen, and inspired to do their best work. Simply put, you help our leaders lead better and our teams thrive because of it.
What You’ll Do
- Partner with Operations and People Culture leaders on people-first initiatives that drive engagement and business success
- Manage HRIS data and oversee all personnel changes (hiring, onboarding, transfers, promotions, compensation updates)
- Lead a welcoming, seamless onboarding experience that sets every new hire up for success
- Collaborate with managers to attract, hire, and retain top talent
- Support HR programs across a multi-unit restaurant organization
- Ensure compliance with employment laws, training requirements, and certifications
- Navigate employee relations matters with professionalism, empathy, and sound judgment
- Provide coaching and guidance to leaders on performance management and team development
- Support recognition and engagement initiatives that celebrate our people and culture
- Stay current on HR trends and bring forward innovative, scalable ideas
What You Bring
- 3–5 years of Human Resources experience, with strengths in employee relations, people operations and HRIS.
- Solid knowledge of employment laws and HR best practices (hospitality or multi-unit experience strongly preferred)
- Experience supporting multiple locations or teams in a fast-paced environment
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities with attention to detail
- A people-first mindset. You lead with empathy, build trust, and approach challenges with care
- Confident communication and coaching skills. You know how to meet people where they are and guide them forward
- A collaborative, solutions-oriented approach with a passion for creating an exceptional employee experience
