Job Responsibilities & Duties
- Team with pharmacy staff, collaborate and support to ensure efficient workflow and high-quality service.
- Oversee the preparation, dispensing, and labeling of medications, ensuring accuracy and adherence to all relevant legal and safety guidelines.
- Assist with inventory management, including ordering, receiving, and storing pharmaceutical supplies in compliance with regulatory requirements.
- Collaborate with pharmacists and other healthcare professionals to resolve medication-related issues, provide drug information, and support optimal patient outcomes.
- Maintain accurate patient records, ensuring confidentiality and compliance with HIPAA regulations.
- Train and educate on new medications, procedures, and safety protocols to enhance their knowledge and skills.
- Perform regular quality assurance checks to identify and resolve any potential medication errors or discrepancies.
- Stay up-to-date with the latest developments and advancements in pharmacy practice, attending workshops and conferences as necessary.
- Assist in the implementation and execution of pharmacy policies, procedures, and services to improve operational efficiency and patient satisfaction.
- Contribute to a positive work environment by fostering teamwork, open communication, and continuous improvement initiatives.
Job Qualifications & Skills
- Certified Pharmacy Technician (CPhT) certification preferred.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in a pharmacy setting preferred.
- Experience in a leadership or supervisory role.
- Strong knowledge of pharmaceutical practices and medicinal preparations.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Proficiency in pharmacy management software.
- Advanced problem-solving abilities.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
- High school diploma or equivalent; completion of an accredited Pharmacy Technician program is preferred.
- Active state pharmacy technician license and certified by the Pharmacy Technician Certification Board (PTCB).
- Strong knowledge of prescription medications, pharmaceutical calculations, and insurance billing procedures.
- Excellent attention to detail and exceptional organizational skills to prioritize tasks and handle multiple responsibilities.
- Effective leadership abilities, with the aptitude to motivate and guide a team towards achieving common goals.
- Exceptional customer service skills and the ability to communicate effectively with patients, healthcare professionals, and colleagues.
- Proficiency in pharmacy software systems and computer literacy for maintaining accurate records and performing data entry.
- Solid understanding of pharmacy laws, regulations, and ethical guidelines governing pharmaceutical practice.
- Flexibility to work variable shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays, as required in a 24/7 pharmacy setting.
Job Types: Full-time, Part-time
Pay: $12.00 - $16.00 per hour
