Project Development Manager, Industrial Automation
Location: Denver Metro Area, Colorado (Hybrid: 3 days in
office / 2 days remote)

Position Purpose
The Project Development Manager plays a pivotal role in
Business Development in identifying, qualifying, and developing capital
projects. This includes scoping, preliminary design, estimating, and proposal
development to deliver tailored client solutions.
Key Responsibilities
- Project Development & Estimating
- Collaborate with BDMs, Engineers and Project Managers to
identify and qualify potential projects.
- Business Development activities to include, outbound calls,
emails, identify and source new clients.
- Attend industry events, networking and personal business
contacts.
- Develop conceptual designs and detailed cost estimates.
- Prepare material take-offs, preliminary sketches, and bid
documentation.
- Assist with vendor/contractor pricing and sourcing.
- Client Engagement & Technical Support.
- Participate in client meetings and presentations.
- Translate complex engineering concepts into clear,
client-facing proposals.
- Provide technical assistance throughout the project
lifecycle.
- Oversee internal and external engineering resources during
project development.
Design & Documentation
- Interpret and work with PFDs, P&IDs, and technical
specifications.
- Draft, organize, and submit comprehensive bid and proposal
packages.
- Ensure thorough, accurate, and clear project documentation.

Education
Bachelor of Science in Engineering (Mechanical or Electrical
preferred) or Technical Certification in Industrial Automation or related
Experience & Technical Knowledge
- Minimum 3 years in project estimating
- 5-7 years experience in Oil & Gas or heavy industrial
industries
- Strong understanding of: Industrial automation and control
systems to include SCADA, PLCs, control panels, Proficiency in PLC programming
(e.g., Allen Bradley, Siemens, ABB, Schneider, Emerson) and HMI development,
alarming, trends and control logic.
- Proficient with project management.
- Experience with electrical and instrumentation requirements.
- Electrical and Control Panel Design and Fabrication,
UL508A/698A
- Knowledge of CodeSys
Skills & Competencies
- Proficient in MS Office and estimating software
- Strong written and verbal communication
- High attention to detail and organizational skills
- Self-directed with strong problem-solving capabilities
- Effective team collaborator with ability to lead when needed
- Ability to explain technical solutions to non-technical
audiences
- Certifications & Requirements
- Valid driver's license with a clean driving record
- Ability to pass background check and drug screening
- Must complete customer-mandated safety training
