To support this growth, we’re adding a Controller who will play a critical leadership role in building the financial backbone of our development operations.

The Opportunity
As the Controller for Land Development, you’ll be the financial partner our operations team relies on for accuracy, insight, and accountability. You’ll own the processes that ensure our projects are costed correctly, our reporting is timely, and our financial statements reflect the true performance of the business.
This is a hands‑on, high‑ownership role where you’ll work directly with the CFO and collaborate across accounting, HR, and operations. You’ll help build scalable processes, strengthen controls, and support Atlas as we continue our growth trajectory.
What You’ll Lead
- Oversee AP processing for all development projects, ensuring accurate costing and final approval before general ledger posting.
- Calculate payroll based on established pay plans, coordinate with HR, and post payroll ledgers accurately.
- Reconcile operational project reports to the general ledger, identify discrepancies, and correct data to maintain financial integrity.
- Close out completed projects, prepare journal entries, and ensure proper recognition of sales and cost of sales.
- Manage timely fiscal period closes and deliver clear, actionable management reporting.
- Maintain rigorous balance sheet reconciliations and strengthen internal controls.
- Assist with state and local tax reporting requirements.
What Makes You a Great Fit
- Degree in Accounting or Finance
- 5 years of progressive experience in a corporate or growth‑oriented environment
- Strong Excel skills and comfort working with data
- Excellent organizational, leadership, and time‑management abilities
- Clear, confident communication skills and the ability to work cross‑functionally
- Supervisory experience is a plus
- Advanced QuickBooks experience is a plus
