We are a Los Angeles-based developer and builder of affordable multifamily housing seeking a Director of Construction to lead ground-up projects financed with Low Income Housing Tax Credits (LIHTC) and tax-exempt bonds.
What you'll do
- Oversee all phases of construction on new-construction affordable multifamily projects, from preconstruction through cost certification
- Manage budgets, schedules, subcontractor buyout, and construction draws with lenders and tax credit equity partners
- Coordinate with architects, city agencies (LADBS, LAHD, Planning), and third-party consultants on plan check, accessibility compliance, and inspections
- Serve as the qualifying construction lead on funding applications, demonstrating project experience for TCAC/CDLAC and lender requirements
'What we're looking for
- 7 years of multifamily construction management, with substantial completed LIHTC or affordable housing projects (please list specific projects, unit counts, and your role)
- Direct experience with tax credit equity draw processes, cost certifications, and Davis-Bacon or state prevailing wage administration a plus
- Familiarity with accessibility requirements on publicly financed housing (CASp, ADA, Section 504/UFAS)
- Ability to represent the company's construction experience in institutional financing applications
