The role involves extended standing, lifting up to 50 lbs, and working around operational noise and composite dust (PPE provided). Some shift coverage flexibility may be required. The challenge
Own the movement of materials—every receipt, every shipment, every record. Lead a capable team, align with production and sales, and turn the dock into a model of speed, accuracy, and safety.
In your first 90 days, you will
- Map current inbound/outbound processes and eliminate friction points.
- Establish a cycle-count cadence and reconciliation routines to drive inventory accuracy.
- Standardize shipping documentation (pick slips, bills of lading, certificates of conformance) and compliance checks.
- Stand up ERP/WMS dashboards for shipment tracking and performance reporting.
- Coach team members and set expectations for safety, quality, and throughput.
- Direct all inbound and outbound logistics with on-time execution and accurate paperwork per company and carrier requirements.
- Schedule, train, and evaluate shipping/receiving clerks and warehouse associates.
- Coordinate daily with production, procurement, and sales to align shipping with build plans and customer commitments.
- Maintain OSHA-compliant, clean, and organized dock/warehouse environments.
- Use ERP/WMS and Microsoft Office to track freight and create reports for decision-making.
- 3–5 years in shipping, receiving, or warehouse management (manufacturing preferred)
- Track record leading teams in high-volume, fast-moving operations
- ERP/WMS proficiency (SAP, Oracle, NetSuite, or similar) and strong Microsoft Office skills
- Knowledge of domestic/international freight regulations, customs documentation, and carrier compliance
- Organized, analytical, and decisive under tight deadlines
- Forklift certified (or willing to obtain); comfortable with material handling equipment
- High school diploma required; Associate’s or Bachelor’s in Supply Chain, Logistics, or Business preferred
- Inspection experience in aerospace, aviation, automotive, or composites
- Familiarity with composites and thermosets
