What are the responsibilities and job description for the Head of Partnership Development position at Atlas Cup, Inc.?
Remote or Hybrid
Atlas Cup is building the world’s first professional orbital racing league — a new category of sport at the intersection of space, AI, and global media.
We are assembling the founding team that will define how competition happens beyond Earth. Partnerships are central to that mission.
We’re hiring our first Head of Partnerships to lead sponsor strategy, commercial relationships, and ecosystem development across teams, infrastructure partners, and media stakeholders. This role will own how Atlas Cup connects with the companies and organizations that power the league.
This is a senior, hands-on leadership role for someone who has built meaningful partnerships before — and wants to help create a sport from scratch.
- Own partnership strategy and revenue across sponsors, teams, and ecosystem partners
- Identify, source, and close commercial sponsorships and brand integrations
- Structure long-term partnerships across aerospace, technology, media, and consumer brands
- Lead onboarding of inaugural race teams and key league participants
- Negotiate partnership agreements and commercial terms
- Develop the partner pipeline, CRM, and go-to-market motion from the ground up
- Represent Atlas Cup with senior executives, investors, and industry leaders
- Collaborate closely with leadership across product, technical, and media teams
- Travel as needed (~25%) to support partners and league development
- 8–12 years in partnerships, business development, or commercial strategy
- Track record of closing complex, high-value deals
- Comfortable operating with autonomy and building processes from scratch
- Strong network across sports, media, aerospace, technology, or adjacent industries
- Equally strategic and hands-on — you can craft the plan and execute it
- Thrive in fast-moving, early-stage environments
- Clear communicator with executive presence
Experience in space or emerging tech is a plus, but not required.
- Sports league or team partnerships experience
- Sponsorship or media rights negotiations
- Broadcast or content partnerships
- Startup or venture-backed company experience
- Fundraising or investor-facing experience
- Founding leadership role shaping a new global sport
- Competitive salary meaningful equity
- Remote or hybrid flexibility (San Francisco HQ planned)
- Medical, dental, vision, 401(k), unlimited PTO, and standard benefits
Compensation: $125,000 – $165,000 base equity (based on experience and location)
