Primary Objective:
The Purchasing Manager is responsible for sourcing equipment, goods and services and managing vendors. This position will manage reliable and cost-effective supply chain strategies to deliver the materials, equipment, supplies and service to the Customer center operations of Atlas Copco Rental Steam. This position works closely with Manufacturing, Logistics, Quality, Engineering and Finance and reports to the Operations Manager.

Job Requirements

• Utilize MRP/ERP and Issue majority of company Purchase Orders for the Shop/Engineering/Service including consumables and MRO products.
• Manage the warehouse for storage of rental fleet spares, including the Warehouse Clerk
• Maintain and Order materials for internal Jobs and Field Service.
• Quote at least 3 viable sources for materials goods and services.
• Negotiate Vendor terms in accordance with accounts payable guidelines.
• Resolve and assist Accounts Payable with Invoice discrepancies.
• Establish and research new sources/potential vendors.
• Review and Issue Change Orders as needed.
• Create new part numbers with Purchasing Manager within the ERP/MRP system.
• Act as a Liaison between engineering/shop and vendor base.
• Track and maintain Acknowledgements and Purchase Orders and incoming goods.
• Ensure all materials are On-Time adjust Purchase Orders and report late deliveries.
• Analyze proposals and quotations for lead time, price and delivery.
• Maintain and follow ethical and practical decision making.

Responsibilities

• Assist Management with Vendor or Supplier Evaluations
• Establish contact with Production, Quality and Vendors to discuss defective or non-conforming parts.
• Maintain and review records with Purchasing Manager throughout the ERP/MRP System to ensure data is accurate and efficient.
• Follows organizational process and procedures.
• Prepare cost analyses for Purchasing Manager Review.
• Follow up with warehouse to ensure product has arrived in good condition.

Qualifications/Skills

• Must manage and resolve internal and external issues and questions as required.
• Ability to manage changes as needed or as directed.
• Builds and maintains effective relationships.
• Utilization of Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Word.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to sit for long periods of time, utilize cell phone and use company provided laptop. Verbal communication as well as email communication required.

Job Location:
As Purchasing Manager, you will be based in our Delanco, NJ location. You will report to the Operations Manager. This position is on-site.
