Machine Shop Manager

Your role

As a Machine Shop Manager, your mission is to lead and empower a self-directed team of machinists, operators, and production engineering professionals to deliver Engineered-to-Order centrifugal compressor components of exceptional quality, while consistently meeting budget and schedule commitments. You will report to the Core Operations Manager.

You will

• Leadership & Team Development
• Staff, train, and motivate a high performing machine shop team.
• Foster a culture of collaboration and continuous improvement through proactive work assignments and cross-training.
• Safety & Compliance
• Ensure employee safety through active training, enforcement, and support of company safety intiatives.
• Production Planning & Execution
• Establish plans to meet production schedules and on-time delivery goals.
• Maintaining accurate production planning systems and up-to-date manufacturing records.
• Collaborate with scheduling teams to monitor shop loading and manage capacity for current and forecasted work.
• Cost & Efficiency Management
• Complete work scope within budget and manage utilization to balance project hours versus overhead.
• Create and implement efficient machining and assembly processes, procedures, and tooling.
• Apply LEAN manufacturing principles to improve processes and achieve cost and efficiency gains.

You have at least 5 years of supervisory experience, working in percision machining or manufacturing environment.

• Experience working as a manufacturing engineer, mechanical engineer, or equivalent experience.
• Strong organization and planning skills with a commitment to continuous learning.
• Proven ability to lead, motivate, develop, and communicate with high-performing production personnel.
• Strong understanding of Geometric Dimesnioning & Tolerancing (GD&T) and abiltity to read engineering drawings for machining.
• Commitment to workplace safety and company sustainability initiatives.

This role requires you to work on-site at our manufacturing facility in Voorheesville, United States (US). You will be part of a dynamic team and enjoy the benefits of face-to-face collaboration.
