Your day-to-day
- Perform skilled TIG welding on Ultra High Vacuum components following detailed engineering blueprints and manufacturing travelers.
- Conduct thorough leak detection tests to validate weld integrity and product quality.
- Troubleshoot and resolve any welding process challenges to minimize production disruptions and scrap rates.
- Fabricate and repair weldments ensuring compliance with technical specifications and quality standards.
- Collaborate closely with engineering teams to drive continuous improvements in manufacturability and welding protocols.
- Participate actively in new product development by welding prototypes and contributing feedback on weldability.
- At least 8 years of TIG welding experience with a demonstrated expertise in Ultra High Vacuum (UHV) welding techniques and standards.
- Comprehensive knowledge of various welding materials and metals along with proficient use of welding tools and equipment.
- Advanced ability to interpret engineering blueprints, schematics, and welding symbols accurately for precise execution.
- Strong safety orientation ensuring compliance with safety protocols and fostering a risk-aware workplace environment.
- Excellent communication skills and a collaborative mindset suitable for mentoring colleagues and working within multidisciplinary teams.
- Capability to handle the physical demands of the role, including standing for long periods and managing equipment safely and efficiently.
