Role Description The Service Center Manager is a full-time, on-site role based in Baytown TX, responsible for overseeing daily operations of the service center, ensuring efficient workflow, and delivering high-quality service to customers. This role manages a team of service technicians and support staff, sets performance expectations, and provides coaching to maintain safety, quality, and productivity standards. The Service Center Manager monitors service orders, schedules and dispatches resources, and ensures timely completion of maintenance, repair, and overhaul activities. The role works closely with sales, logistics, and customer service teams to coordinate service delivery, manage inventory and parts availability, and resolve escalated customer issues. The Service Center Manager also tracks key performance indicators, prepares reports, and drives continuous improvement initiatives to optimize processes, enhance customer satisfaction, and support business growth.
Qualifications
- Demonstrated experience managing service or operations teams in an industrial, manufacturing, or technical environment.
- Strong leadership skills, including team development, performance management, and the ability to foster a safety-focused, inclusive culture.
- Solid understanding of service center workflows such as scheduling, dispatch, work order management, inventory control, and quality assurance.
- Proficiency in using ERP or service management systems, along with good general computer skills (e.g., MS Office, data analysis and reporting).
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for working with customers, cross-functional colleagues, and external partners.
- Ability to analyze operational data, identify trends, and implement process improvements to increase efficiency and customer satisfaction.
- Experience in compressed air equipment, industrial tools, pumps, or related technical fields is highly beneficial.
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering, business, operations management, or a related discipline, or equivalent professional experience.
- Commitment to health, safety, environmental standards, and adherence to company policies and regulatory requirements.
- Capacity to work on-site in Greater Houston and travel locally as needed for customer visits or operational coordination.
