Structural QA/QC Technician - Data Center Construction

Position Overview

We are seeking a Structural QA/QC Technician to support the construction of mission-critical data centers. This is a field-based role focused on inspecting structural construction activities, materials, and workmanship to ensure compliance with project drawings, specifications, codes, and quality standards.

The ideal candidate has experience in construction QA/QC, structural inspections, or field engineering on data center, industrial, or large commercial construction projects.

Key Responsibilities

Field Inspections

• Perform daily inspections of structural work, materials, and installations.
• Verify subcontractor work complies with drawings, specifications, codes, and project standards.
• Inspect structural components including concrete, steel, reinforcing steel, embeds, and anchor bolts.

Quality Assurance

• Execute inspections in accordance with QA/QC plans and Inspection & Test Plans (ITPs).
• Identify deficiencies, track corrective actions, and verify completed rework.
• Help prevent quality issues that could impact project schedule or performance.

Documentation & Coordination

• Complete daily inspection reports, punch lists, deficiency logs, and photo documentation.
• Maintain accurate quality records and assist with project turnover documentation.
• Work closely with Superintendents, Project Managers, Field Engineers, and trade partners during site walks and quality reviews.

Safety

• Follow all OSHA and site safety requirements.
• Report unsafe conditions and wear required PPE at all times.

Required Qualifications

• 2 years of construction QA/QC, field inspection, or quality experience.
• Experience on commercial, industrial, mission-critical, or data center construction projects preferred.
• Ability to read construction drawings, specifications, and inspection documents.
• Strong understanding of structural construction methods and sequencing.
• Excellent attention to detail, communication, and problem-solving skills.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with data center or mission-critical construction.
• Familiarity with structural, mechanical, and electrical systems.
• Experience using construction QA/QC documentation software.
• Technical certification or Associate degree in Construction Management, Engineering Technology, or a related field is a plus.

Physical Requirements

• Ability to work outdoors on active construction sites.
• Ability to stand, walk, climb ladders, and navigate uneven terrain.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
• Must be able to wear required PPE, including hard hat, safety vest, safety glasses, and steel-toe boots.
