Role Description The Sculptor role is a full-time hybrid position based in Salt Lake City, UT, with some work-from-home flexibility for design and planning tasks. On-site, the Sculptor will create original sculptures and models, prepare clay and other materials, and collaborate with casting and fabrication teams to ensure designs can be accurately produced in bronze. Daily responsibilities include clay modeling, carving, refining forms, and translating artistic concepts into practical designs suitable for industrial casting workflows. The Sculptor will work with industrial and product design drawings, review prototypes, and adapt designs based on technical feedback and client requirements. Remote work may include developing concepts, digital design support, documentation, and coordination with project managers and clients.
Qualifications
- Strong artistic foundation, with demonstrated skills in Art and creative concept development.
- Hands-on sculptural abilities, including Clay Modelling and Carving for both artistic and functional pieces.
- Experience in Industrial Design, with an understanding of manufacturing constraints and material properties.
- Background in Product Design, including translating design briefs into tangible, castable forms.
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and project specifications.
- Attention to detail, craftsmanship, and commitment to safety in a workshop environment.
- Effective communication and collaboration skills for working with cross-functional teams.
