We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Senior Accountant to join our Accounting Department. The Senior Accountant will play a key role in maintaining accurate financial records, preparing detailed reports, and facilitating effective financial management across the organization.
Candidates should demonstrate strong technical accounting skills, proficiency with QuickBooks online and a solid understanding of GAAP and other regulatory frameworks.
Responsibilities
- Prepare and analyze financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow reports.
- Perform general ledger accounting and account reconciliation to ensure accuracy of financial data.
- Review Operational, financial records and reports to make recommendation for improvements; work with departments to compile data necessary to analyze and determine operational and financial efficiency.
- Monthly bank and credit card reconciliations.
- Responsible for the processes and overseeing expenses, reimbursement, purchasing, accounts receivables, and accounts payable.
- Assists in managing, and posting student financial accounts to include tuition, billing, revenue recognition, bank deposits, and student refunds to ledger.
- Evaluate existing internal controls and approval processes.
- Prepares special management reports for management.
- Be responsible for providing accurate and comprehensive financial reporting to management. This reporting includes the preparation of the work in progress report with P&L and Balance sheet.
- Be responsible for implementing internal controls to comply with professional guidelines and University requirements to help improve the accuracy of the financial data and achieve the necessary levels of efficiencies.
- Responsible with the development of annual budgets, monthly and yearly closings.
- Create and update inventory count and maintaining inventory records.
- Assist with internal audits and external year end Audit by providing necessary documentation and explanations to Auditor.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support financial management initiatives within the organization.
- Other duties as assigned.
Skills
- Extensive knowledge of GAAP, and regulatory reporting standards.
- Strong technical accounting skills including general ledger accounting, account reconciliation.
- Proficiency with QuickBooks online.
- Excellent financial report writing skills coupled with strong analytical capabilities for financial analysis and forecasting.
- Ability to perform complex account analysis and balance sheet reconciliation accurately.
- Demonstrated ability to interpret financial concepts and apply them effectively in a professional setting.
- Strong organizational skills with attention to detail; ability to manage multiple priorities efficiently.
