Job Summary:
The NY Closing Desk Specialist manages and coordinates the closing process for real estate transactions in New York. This role is responsible for bringing the file to a successful closing and serves as the primary point of contact between buyers, sellers, agents, lenders, and attorneys. The specialist ensures smooth closings while maintaining compliance with state and company regulations. Title clearing and issue resolution are handled by the title/exam team; the Closing Desk focuses solely on closing preparation and execution.
Key Responsibilities:
- Coordinate all aspects of the closing process, including scheduling, document preparation, and fund disbursement.
- Prepare and review closing documents such as settlement statements, deeds, affidavits, and final closing packages.
- Communicate with clients, real estate agents, lenders, and attorneys to provide updates and ensure a smooth closing process.
- Ensure all closings comply with New York state laws and company policies.
- Collaborate with the title/exam team and underwriters to ensure all title and legal issues are resolved prior to closing.
- Maintain accurate records and documentation of all closings and related correspondence.
- Handle post-closing follow-ups, including recording documents and distributing closing packages.
- Assist with training and onboarding of new team members as needed.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma required; associate or bachelor’s degree preferred.
- Minimum 2–3 years of experience in real estate closings, title, or escrow operations in New York.
- Strong knowledge of NY real estate closing procedures and regulations.
- Excellent communication, organization, and customer service skills.
- Ability to manage multiple transactions simultaneously and meet deadlines.
- Proficiency in closing software and Microsoft Office Suite.

Pay: $90,000.00 - $120,000.00 per year
