About the RoleThe CoRe Assistant plays a key role in supporting CoRe groups by providing hands-on technology support, video game setup, tabletop role-playing preparation, and youth engagement. Under the supervision of the CoRe Project Lead, you’ll help create a safe, fun, and welcoming environment while modeling the core values of Courage, Cooperation, Respect, and Resourcefulness.This role directly supports the facilitation of skills that help children and youth stay safe, calm under pressure, build healthy friendships, strengthen family/community connection, and communicate respectfully and persuasively. What You’ll DoDownload and install video games onto laptops.Test and recommend age-appropriate and content-appropriate games for CoRe groups.Safely transport, set up, and break down laptops, gaming gear, and technology at group and event locations.Troubleshoot basic IT issues related to game installation and syncing gaming equipment.Inventory, organize, clean, and properly store all equipment and supplies.Role model CoRe values during youth sessions.Build positive, professional rapport with youth to ensure a safe and inclusive environment.Assist group facilitators with setup, activities, and cleanup.Support youth and facilitators throughout all group activities.Help with outreach to engage and enroll youth in CoRe programs.Distribute, collect, and review registration forms and surveys.Enter accurate registration and survey data into the Electronic Health Record (EHR) system.Attend trainings, staff meetings, and program activities as directed.Follow all values, policies, and practices of Atlantic Street Center.Submit expenses, timesheets, and administrative documents on time.Perform additional duties or special projects as assigned. What We’re Looking ForMust be at least 18 years old.Experience working with or relating well to youth.Ability to motivate youth and calmly manage minor conflicts.Knowledge of video games and platforms (including Steam).Experience with tabletop role-playing games (e.g., Dungeons & Dragons).Basic IT and technology setup skills (e.g., syncing controllers, setting up gaming systems).Basic proficiency with Microsoft Word and Excel.Ability to regularly lift 30–50 lbs and transport equipment containing laptops and tech supplies.Valid Washington State driver’s license and proof of insurance.Must be able to gain approval to drive the agency van for group activities and events.
