About the RoleThe Early Learning Specialist provides direct support to children and families through structured educational home visits. Under the supervision of the Early Learning Program Coordinator, you’ll help parents strengthen early childhood development by modeling positive interactions, sharing age-appropriate learning tools, and supporting families with encouragement, consistency, and respect.This role is ideal for someone passionate about early childhood education, family engagement, and supporting diverse communities. What You’ll DoProgram DeliveryVisit assigned families twice a week for 30 minutes per visit.Bring a new educational book or age-appropriate toy during the introductory weekly visit.Model positive verbal interaction techniques using toys or books during both weekly visits.Create a warm, supportive environment where parents feel confident and involved.Honor the parent’s role as the child’s first and most important teacher.Track and monitor each family’s progress proactively.Follow all program goals, objectives, and action plans.Maintain responsibility for toys, books, and program materials issued to you.Learn and apply techniques that promote increased parent-child verbal interaction.Support fellow Early Learning Specialists and program staff.Maintain privacy and practice discretion when discussing family matters.Documentation & ReportingMaintain accurate logs and records of family activities and interactions.Submit timely and accurate weekly, quarterly, and annual reports.Other ResponsibilitiesFollow all agency values, policies, and confidentiality guidelines, including HIPAA.Participate in school/agency meetings, trainings, supervision, and consultations.Support PC contract outcomes and overall Early Learning program goals.Collaborate with other ASC programs to integrate services for families.Provide occasional support or consultation to internal teams or external partners.Submit expenses, timesheets, and administrative documents on time.Perform other duties or special projects as assigned. QualificationsHigh School Diploma or GED plus two years of experience working with young children.AA or BA in Early Childhood Education strongly preferred.Two years of paid or volunteer experience with nonprofit organizations (preferred).Ability to speak, read, and write fluently in Spanish, a Southeast Asian, or East African language (preferred).Experience working with low-income families and diverse cultural backgrounds.Knowledge of local community support services.Strong commitment to holistic family support and early childhood development.Strong teamwork, communication, and organizational skills.Creative thinker with the ability to build trust and maintain patience with very young children.Ability to work independently and collaboratively.Basic proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and databases. Working ConditionsMust be able to visit clients in all ASC service areas and community locations.Ability to perform a wide range of physical activities, including sitting, walking, bending, and lifting up to 30 lbs.Regular driving required — up to 40–50% of the work week.Valid WA driver’s license and car insurance required.Monday–Friday schedule with occasional evening hours.
