What are the responsibilities and job description for the Workers' Compensation Specialist position at AtlantiCare?
On-site requirement, Monday-Friday 8:30am-5pm, located in Egg Harbor Township
POSITION SUMMARY
The Workers' Compensation Specialist investigates, adjusts and administers workers' compensation claims in the AtlantiCare self-insured/self-administered Trust and assists in the development, implementation and evaluation of occupational and premises safety policies and procedures, accident prevention and accident investigation. This position acts as an advisor to management staff on occupational and premises safety issues and oversees and helps defend workers' compensation matters in litigation.
This position supports organizational goals by providing quality customer service, participating in performance improvement efforts and demonstrating a commitment to teamwork and cooperation.
QUALIFICATIONS
EDUCATION: Bachelor's degree in related field required. Minimum 3-5 years of experience in workers' compensation claims/litigation handling. 4 additional years of relevant experience may be substituted for the education requirement.
LICENSE/CERTIFICATION:
EXPERIENCE: Minimum 3-5 years of experience in workers' compensation claims/litigation handling. Well-developed analytical, organizational and communication skills required. Must be detail-oriented. Must possess excellent computer and communication skills. Must have the ability to work independently. Healthcare experience preferred.

WORK ENVIRONMENT
This position requires sitting at a desk or computer a majority of the day with frequent walking and standing. The essential functions for this position are listed on the Assessment and Evaluation Tool.

This position reports to department leadership.
