What are the responsibilities and job description for the Central Billing Office Clerk position at AtlantiCare?
Position Summary:
The Central Billing Clerk is responsible for transmitting all electronic claims, completes all paper claims, monitors all accounts receivable and payable, monitors authorizations, works closely with each Registrar to ensure compliance with standards.
Duties and Responsibilities:
* Transmit all electronic claims within established time frames.
* Completes all paper billing claims within established timeframes.
* Monitors assigned accounts receivable to ensure compliance with the Financial Policy.
* Collects required data and prepares reports for outside funding sources within established timeframes.
* Works closely with each Registrar to ensure compliance with Financial Policies.
* Monitors payer trends and communicates them to CBO Manager within established timeframes.
* Monitors the process for efficiency and recommends improvements as needed to the CBO Manager
* Communicates with various Private Insurance Companies and resolves billing disputes
* Responds in a professional and courteous manner to client billing questions within established time frames.
* Completes daily Avatar Central Billing reports.
* Accurately enters payments and denial information into Avatar according to ABH negotiated contract rates.
* Data entry rate for Hospital charge entry will be a minimum of 100 completed charges per day. All PIP charges must be entered the day the fax is received by CBO. CBO will monitor thru Avatar Reports that all Billing Slips are received within 5 days of the patient's discharge. Follow up with the CBO Manager as appropriate.
Minimal Qualifications:
Education: High School Diploma or equivalent.
Experience: One (1) year in clerical position.
Training: Training in relevant computer programs.
Preferred Qualifications:
Education: One (1) year in setting involving direct customer care.
REPORTING RELATIONSHIP
This position reports to the CBO Supervisor.
