Job Title: Procurement Operations and MRO Manager

Job Summary:
The Procurement Operations Manager will be responsible for managing the sourcing and procurement activities for recurrent materials and services spend across North America assets. The Procurement Operations Manager will manage all central and site buyers across existing and new assets for North America. Key responsibilities will be to consolidate/aggregate spend across all North America assets to deliver year over year cost savings, establishment-site, multi-year contracts and framework agreements for materials and repair services as well as strategic spend for newly constructure or acquired assets. Additional responsibilities will be supplier performance relationship building and performance management through supplier rationalization/optimization. The role acts as the interface between local operations, business development, Category and Strategic Sourcing managers, ensuring that sourcing and procurement strategies and supplier agreements are effectively implemented in their region. This role goes beyond senior buyer responsibilities, requiring strategic sourcing capabilities to deliver cost efficiencies, risk mitigation, and robust supplier management in a dynamic, fast-growing renewable energy environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Procurement Operations
- Execute day-to-day purchasing processes within the country including onboarding new suppliers, managing requisitions, issuing purchase orders, ensuring compliance with contracts, supporting local stakeholders and maintaining accurate material and vendor master data.
- Manage purchase order creation, supplier acknowledgements, invoice and receipt management issues, ensuring adherence to risk and compliance documentation and purchase stipulations.
- Participate as needed in supplier on-site visits and walks in support of RFQ’s/RFP’s especially as they relate to repair services required at your assets.
- Support procurement operations in the country, including implementation of best practice in terms of the S2P process including supplier onboarding & management, alignment to policy in terms of catalogues, RFI’s, RFP’s, RFQ’s and automatic P.Os
- Develop advanced replenish programs and strategies including but not limited to: Amazon Marketplace, VMI (Vendor Managed Inventory), Consignment Inventory, Storefronts, Lockers, et.al to reduce Atlantica touch time and cost.
- Integrate with new project development teams to ensure seamless handoff procurement activities, spare materials, and all new project and O&M contracts (MSA’s, LTSA, service and O&M agreements).
- Familiarity with setting and maintaining spare parts predefined inventory levels required.
- Identify opportunities to deliver year over year savings in terms of recurrent spend, by consolidating/rationalizing suppliers or spend across the Atlantica global organization (where possible).
- Manage day-to-day supplier issues including order discrepancies, delivery issues or invoice mismatches, liaising between suppliers, finance and business unites to resolve issues quickly
- Support site visits, inspections and operational reviews
- Identify bottlenecks and inefficiencies in the S2P workflow
Category Management & Strategic Sourcing Support
- Support forecasting of operational recurrent and growth new spend to central category management and strategic sourcing managers
- Manage implementation of MRO, Chemicals & Consumables and other recurrent spend cost categories in the country, supporting existing Operations with their day-to-day requirements including full procurement support for major and routine maintenance events and capital investments
- Support and execute locally as per the category strategies for major equipment - BESS, Solar PV(modules, inverters, batteries, transformers), in coordination with Category Manager for new projects in the country.
- Support supplier pre-qualification, qualification, onboarding and performance management, using quantifiable assessment tools.
- Support regional alignment with global supply and procurement initiatives.
Contracting & Negotiation
- Enforce the use of preferred suppliers, automatic POs and framework agreements as per agreed terms and pricing
- Contract for goods and services required locally that do not fall within existing category management and strategic sourcing spend categories
- Assist with urgent or unplanned needs and expedite deliveries where required
- Manage existing asset contract expirations, renewals, and alternative supplier bidding and awards.
- Manage NDA’s as required.
- Ensure purchases comply with procurement policies, tax rules and local regulations
- Monitor contract leakage and escalate non-compliant spent
Stakeholder Collaboration
- Work with asset managers, engineering, construction, and legal teams to define technical specifications, contract structures, and project requirements.
- Work closely with Category Management and Strategic Sourcing Managers to develop and then implement category strategies in the local geography
- Liaise with internal and external stakeholders to ensure timely delivery and issue resolution.
Performance Management & Reporting
- Maintain accurate data in the ERP / S2P process to be able to maintain and manage supplier, contract and spend master data and KPIs
- Develop procurement KPIs, dashboards, and procurement plans to monitor performance against targets.
- Drive continuous improvement, cost-saving, and contractual optimization initiatives.
Compliance & Best Practice
Ensure adherence to internal procurement policies, regulatory requirements, and sustainability goals.
Maintain up-to-date and accurate procurement data across company systems.
Qualifications:
- Prefer Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Supply Chain, Business Administration, or related field. A Master’s degree is a plus.
- 7 years of procurement, category management, or strategic sourcing experience, preferably in BESS, Solar PV, or renewable projects.
- APICS CPIM or CPM certifications a plus.
- Experience with ERP/S2P tools including SAP, Coupa and strong understanding of S2P processes, invoice management and basic contracting
- Experience working with cross-functional teams and external suppliers in global locations
