Job Summary:
The Director of Nursing (DON) leads and oversees the nursing team and is responsible for ensuring the highest quality of patient care, maintaining compliance with healthcare regulations, and fostering a positive, collaborative work environment.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
- Direct, oversee and evaluate all nursing team members.
- Guide staffing procedures.
- Set objectives and long-term goals for the nursing department.
Duties/Responsibilities:
- Organize, Oversee, and coordinate clinic coverage, staffing schedules, all supplies, medication, and equipment required for nursing, and patient procedures.
- Develop and enforce policies aiming for legal compliance and high-quality standards.
- Resolve issues and deficiencies when needed.
- Collaborate with other departments and professionals to streamline operations.
- Provide reports to upper management.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Required Skills/Abilities:
- Proven experience as Director of Nursing or Clinic Manager
- In-depth knowledge of patient care with urology experience
- Broad knowledge of legal regulations and best practices in healthcare
- Willingness to keep abreast of changing standards in nursing administration.
- Excellent ability to lead and develop personnel.
- Excellent communication and people skills
- Outstanding organizational and stress management skills
- Aptitude in problem-solving
Education and Experience:
- Valid nursing and CPR certification required
- Bachelor's degree or Master’s degree in Nursing required
- Minimum of 5 years of nursing leadership experience
Physical Requirements:
- Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer
- Must be able to lift up to 25 pounds at times
