Job Description

The Project Engineer (PE) is an entry-level role focused on building a strong foundation in the core mechanics of project management. The PE reports directly to the Project Manager and/or Project Executive and supports the project team by owning submittals, field documentation, and quantity tracking. This role is designed to develop the fundamental skills required to progress into an Assistant Project Manager position.

Responsibilities

Project Support – for larger projects, the PE supports the Project Team by owning documentation, process flow, and any other tasks that supports the execution of the project.

  • Project Administration: Owns critical project admin tasks such as submittal and RFI management, contract and change condition management, and meeting and communication management.
  • Project Controls & Production: Monitors project financials through schedule and field production tracking, and material/logistics management. Owns daily quantity tracking to support accurate billing and project costing.


Requirements, Skills, and Abilities

Work Experience

  • Experience: 0-3 years of experience in commercial construction; internships or co-ops in construction are a plus.
  • Technical Background: Basic ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications
  • Field Exposure: Willingness to spend significant time on active jobsites alongside field leaders.


Education

  • Bachelor's or Master’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering or Architecture


Skills & Technology:

  • Tech Stack: Familiarity with Procore, Bluebeam Revu, or similar software is a plus; willingness to learn is required.
  • Organization: Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple logs and documents accurately.
  • Communication: Ability to communicate clearly and professionally with field staff, and the project team.
  • Excel Proficiency: Comfortable working with spreadsheets to track quantities, logs, and basic data.
  • Mindset: Highly motivated to learn the business, take ownership of assigned tasks, and grow into a Project Management career path. Independently motivated to complete tasks and learn new skillsets to assist the Project team.

Salary : $55,000 - $70,000
