Position Overview
A precision manufacturing organization is seeking a CMM Programmer to support inspection, validation, and quality assurance activities in a highly regulated environment.
This role is responsible for developing and maintaining CMM programs, supporting new product launches, and ensuring measurement systems are accurate, repeatable, and aligned with quality requirements. The ideal candidate has strong experience with GD&T, blueprint interpretation, and metrology practices.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop, validate, and maintain CMM programs for production and new product inspection.
- Perform first article inspections and support validation activities (IQ/OQ/PQ).
- Interpret engineering drawings and GD&T to create accurate inspection routines.
- Troubleshoot and refine CMM programs to improve accuracy and efficiency.
- Support capability studies and measurement system analysis (Gage R&R).
- Collaborate with Engineering and Quality teams during product development and process changes.
- Ensure inspection methods align with regulatory and internal quality standards.
- Maintain documentation related to inspection plans, results, and procedures.
- Support continuous improvement efforts related to measurement accuracy and inspection efficiency.
Qualifications
Required:
- Experience programming CMM equipment in a manufacturing environment.
- Strong understanding of GD&T and blueprint interpretation.
- Experience using precision measurement tools and inspection techniques.
- Ability to analyze and interpret measurement data.
Preferred:
- Experience in a regulated manufacturing environment (medical, aerospace, etc.).
- Familiarity with validation processes and documentation requirements.
- Experience with CMM software (PC-DMIS, Calypso, or similar).
- Knowledge of statistical analysis and process capability.
