Atlantic Partners client seeks an Education Specialist Contractor in Paramus, NJ.
The Education Specialist (Emergency Department preferred) is a professional registered nurse responsible for the development, coordination, and evaluation of clinical education programs within the Emergency Department. This role supports a culture of continuous learning, clinical excellence, and patient-centered care aligned with our client's mission to serve the community.
The Education Specialist collaborates with nursing leadership, quality, and interdisciplinary teams to ensure staff competency, promote evidence-based practice, and maintain compliance with regulatory and accreditation standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Assess learning needs of Emergency Department staff and develop annual education and competency plans in collaboration with nursing leadership.
- Design, implement, and evaluate orientation programs for new hires, including individualized onboarding and competency validation.
- Develop and deliver continuing education, in-services, and simulation-based training focused on emergency care, trauma, and critical situations.
- Facilitate American Heart Association (AHA) courses including BLS and ACLS, ensuring staff certification compliance.
- Monitor and maintain staff competencies, licensure, and required certifications in accordance with regulatory standards.
- Serve as a clinical educator, mentor, and role model to nursing staff, promoting professional development and certification.
- Integrate evidence-based practice, patient safety initiatives, infection control, and quality improvement into all education programs.
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to enhance patient outcomes and promote best practices in emergency care delivery.
- Participate in policy and procedure development and updates related to clinical practice and education.
- Maintain accurate documentation of all education activities, competencies, and training records.
- Support a high-reliability organization culture emphasizing safety, accountability, and equity in care delivery.
Position Qualifications
Required:
- Current New Jersey Registered Nurse (RN) license.
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) required.
- American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
- AHA Basic Life Support (BLS) Instructor certification.
- AHA Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification.
- Minimum of 3–5 years of clinical experience in perioperative services.
Preferred:
- Certification in Emergency Nursing (CEN), CCRN, or Nursing Professional Development.
- Prior teaching, precepting, or clinical education experience.
- Experience in Emergency Department or critical care settings strongly preferred.
- Master’s degree in Nursing, Education, or related field.
Work Environment
- High-volume, fast-paced Emergency Department treating diverse patient populations across all acuity levels.
- Requires flexibility to support education across shifts, including occasional evenings or weekends.
- Frequent collaboration with multidisciplinary teams including physicians, advanced practice providers, and ancillary staff.
