Atlantic Health is searching for a well qualified Field Athletic Trainer for the Sports Medicine Department. The incumbent will be responsible for advanced sports medicine knowledge and evidence-based practice to provide athletic training services to AHS affiliated School or Team Organization. Autonomously provide medical care to all athletes affiliated with designated School or Team Organization. Principal Accountabilities
- Administrative supervision of affiliated School or Team Organization's Athletic Training Department
- Daily supervision of direct reports
- Provide feedback on performance and submit comments on annual performance evaluations for direct reports
- Oversees hiring, promotions, and transfers for direct reports
- Establishes weekly work schedules for physicians and direct reports
- Establishes and adjusts athletic training room hours of operation based on athlete and athletic department needs
- Annually develops and revises emergency action plans to ensure compliance with standards of best practice and relevant rules and regulations.
- Provides educational opportunities focused on overall athlete wellness and injury prevention for athletes, coaches, and medical staff as indicated
- Manages and resolves complex grievances related to the medical care provided to athletes
- Acts as liaison between athlete and physician
- Clinical supervision of affiliated School or Team Organization's Athletic Training Program
- Perform history and physical examinations on indicated athletes
- Use clinical judgement to coordinate referrals and follow-up care on indicated athletes
- Provide emergency medical coverage during all home athletic events
- Deliver treatment and rehabilitation to indicated athletes
- Promotes, develop, and implement safety and injury prevention measures
- Schedule on campus injury clinics and pre-participation physicals
- Maintain HIPPA compliant medical records
QUALIFICATIONS
- B.S. Degree in Athletic Training from a CAATE accredited program
- Active BOC certification
- NJ Athletic Training License in good standing
- BLS Certification
