Education: High School Diploma or equivalent.
Bachelors in health science or related field preferred.
Experience:2 years Sterile processing Required.
Certificates: CRCST Certification required; CER and CIS preferred or acquired within 2 years. American Heart Association BLS required.

Possesses familiarity/knowledge with the use of all sterilization and/or HLD equipment at assigned practices and maintains Instructions for Use (IFUs) for existing equipment.
- Reviews need for new equipment in collaboration with practice leadership.
- Oversees team member education and training on reprocessing of instruments and endoscopes as per IFUs.
- Develops and streamlines existing workflows to improve efficiency and maintain patient and team member safety.
- Recognizes emergency situations and acts appropriately. Maintains a safe environment for team members and patients/visitors. Adheres to HRO safety principles.
- Consistently responds to patients/families in a courteous, positive, and timely manner.
- Consistently respects patients’ right to privacy and dignity. Consistently respects the patients’ rights to confidentiality according to HIPAA guidelines. Fosters a positive and pleasant environment, which promotes our shared AMG values.

- Familiar with and assists in creating and monitoring workflows and performance specific to each practice.
- Responsible for successful team member training and development, competencies, and policy compliance in all aspects of the operational needs of sterile processing in ambulatory offices.
- Ensures that all required documentation is completed and maintained as per policy/regulation.
- Assists with hiring, orientation, training, and supervision of team members in assigned practices.
- Directs team members of assigned practices to ensure adherence to established policies and procedures and standardizes a continuous process improvement workflow.
- Provides ongoing feedback and coaching and accurately performs all competencies in a timely manner by meeting deadlines.
- Works collaboratively and effectively across AHS departments as appropriate to maximize operational efficiency and service.
- Participates in professional development activities to keep current with trends and practices in sterile processing and provides updated training to team members, as required.
- Acts as a resource and subject matter expert on sterilization/HLD for the ambulatory practices.
