What are the responsibilities and job description for the Medical Laboratory Scientist I, Overlook Medical Center position at Atlantic Health System?
Overview:
Atlantic Health System is seeking a Per Diem Medical Lab Scientist I in the Lab- Transfusion Services at Overlook Medical Center to work from 3pm - 11pm or 11pm - 7am Monday - Friday and weekends as needed.
Responsibilities:
- Perform Laboratory testing in the Blood Bank and report results according to the SOPs
- Operate, maintain and troubleshoot analyzers and equipment
- Perform quality control, calibrations and correlations
- Maintain supply inventory
- Provide Laboratory information to others on the patient care team
Minimum Education:
- High School Diploma or GED required
Education:
- Bachelor's degree in Medical Laboratory Science/Medical Technology highly preferred
License/Certifications:
- ASCP Certification preferred or equivalent Medical Laboratory Scientist certification highly preferred
Relevant Experience:
- Blood Bank experience preferred
