Job Overview – Staff Accountant
Compensation: $65,000 – $85,000/year
Location: New Castle County, DE
Schedule: Monday to Friday (Hybrid)
Atlantic Group is hiring a Staff Accountant in New Castle County, DE for our client, supporting treasury operations, financial reporting, and general accounting functions within a professional services environment. This role focuses on managing cash activity, performing reconciliations, and assisting with month-end close and reporting processes. The position requires strong attention to detail, knowledge of accounting principles, and proficiency in Excel.
Responsibilities as the Staff Accountant:
- Treasury Management: Monitor cash activity, initiate transfers, and support daily banking operations.
- Reconciliations: Perform monthly reconciliations for bank accounts, credit cards, and general ledger accounts.
- Financial Reporting: Prepare monthly financial statements and support reporting for management review.
- Close Process: Assist with journal entries and support month-end and year-end close activities.
- Tax and Compliance: Prepare basic tax filings and support audit processes with required documentation.
- Cross-Functional Support: Partner with internal teams to support billing, collections, and cash flow management.
Qualifications for the Staff Accountant:
- Education: Associate’s degree in Accounting or Finance is required, with a bachelor’s degree preferred.
- Experience: 2-4 years of experience in accounting or a related role is required.
- Industry Knowledge: Strong understanding of general accounting principles is required.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in Excel is required, with experience in accounting systems preferred.
- Skills & Attributes: Strong attention to detail, communication skills, organization, and the ability to manage multiple priorities are required.
