Atlantic Group is hiring a Senior Tax Analyst in New York, NY for our client, supporting partnership accounting, tax reporting, and financial operations within a professional services environment. This role will partner closely with tax leadership on partner accounting activities, capital account maintenance, tax return preparation, and multi-state tax reporting. The position offers exposure to complex accounting and tax processes while supporting audits, compliance initiatives, and ongoing financial operations.
Responsibilities as the Senior Tax Analyst:
- Partnership Accounting: Maintain partner capital account activity, distribution schedules, and return of capital reporting.
- Tax Reporting: Prepare tax-related schedules, K-1 support documentation, and state sales, use, and property tax filings.
- Financial Reconciliation: Reconcile intercompany accounts, maintain supporting schedules, and ensure accuracy of financial records.
- Payment Administration: Coordinate partner distributions, retirement-related payments, and deduction schedules through payroll systems.
- Audit Support: Prepare financial and tax documentation for interim and year-end audit requests.
- Project Support: Assist tax leadership with special projects, reporting initiatives, and ongoing accounting operations.
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business is required.
- Experience: 3–5 years of accounting or tax-related experience with exposure to partnership accounting is required.
- Industry Knowledge: Experience with partnership accounting, capital accounts, K-1 preparation, and multi-state tax reporting is preferred.
- Technical Skills: Advanced Excel skills and experience with accounting systems are required, while experience with financial management or tax software is preferred.
- Skills & Attributes: Strong analytical skills, attention to detail, organizational abilities, and the capacity to manage multiple deadlines are required.
