Position Summary:
The Senior Financial Reporting Accountant will contribute to monthly and quarterly financial close activities, prepare journal entries and account reconciliations, and assist with internal and external reporting. In addition, this role will lead technical accounting research, develop accounting policies, and support SEC reporting and audit activities. The ideal candidate has strong analytical skills, a solid understanding of U.S. GAAP, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced public company environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Corporate Accounting (50%)
- Support month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close processes, including journal entries, accruals, and account reconciliations.
- Prepare and review financial statements and supporting schedules for internal management and external reporting.
- Ensure accuracy and completeness of balance sheet and income statement accounts.
- Collaborate with business units and operations teams to understand results and address accounting issues.
- Assist with internal and external audit requests and maintain appropriate supporting documentation.
- Identify and implement process improvements to increase efficiency and accuracy in financial reporting.
Technical Accounting (50%)
- Research and document technical accounting positions related to complex or non-routine transactions, including revenue recognition, leases, business combinations, impairments, and stock-based compensation.
- Monitor new accounting pronouncements and assess their impact on the company’s financial reporting.
- Draft and maintain accounting policies and procedures consistent with U.S. GAAP and internal control requirements.
- Support quarterly and annual SEC filings (10-Q, 10-K, 8-K), including footnote disclosures and accounting narratives.
- Partner with cross-functional teams to provide accounting guidance for new business initiatives, contracts, and system implementations.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance.
- 3-5 years of progressive accounting experience, including public accounting (Big 4 or large firm) preferred.
- Strong working knowledge of U.S. GAAP and SEC reporting requirements.
- Experience in a publicly traded and/or manufacturing company strongly preferred.
- Proficiency in ERP systems (SAP, Oracle, or similar) and advanced Excel skills.
Salary : $92,000 - $103,000
