Key Responsibilities:
- Maintain job cost records, including budgets, cost codes, change orders, and work-in-progress (WIP) schedules.
- Prepare and review monthly financial statements and project reports.
- Process accounts payable and receivable related to construction projects, ensuring proper cost allocation.
- Manage billing and payment applications (AIA format or equivalent) and track retention.
- Reconcile project costs to the general ledger and identify discrepancies.
- Support project managers with cost analysis, forecasting, and budget updates.
- Prepare and monitor cash flow projections for projects.
- Ensure compliance with contract terms, lien releases, insurance certificates, and subcontractor documentation.
- Assist with audits, tax filings, and year-end close procedures.
- Implement and maintain accounting systems, internal controls, and process improvements.
Qualifications:
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
- Experience: 3–5 years of accounting experience, preferably in the construction industry.
- Software: Proficiency with construction accounting software (e.g., Sage 300, Viewpoint, Procore, QuickBooks, or CMiC).
- Skills:
- Strong knowledge of GAAP and job cost accounting principles
- Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills
- Ability to meet deadlines and handle multiple priorities
