In this role, you'll verify insurance coverage, obtain authorizations, and confirm patient eligibility across Medicare, Medicaid, and commercial plans. Collaborate with patients, providers, and payers to ensure accuracy, support reimbursement, and maintain HIPAA compliance. Responsibilities as the Insurance Verification Specialist:

• Insurance Verification: Confirm patient eligibility and benefits across Medicare, Medicaid, and commercial payers.
• Authorizations & Referrals: Obtain prior authorizations and referrals in accordance with payer and state guidelines.
• Patient Communication: Explain coverage details, collect payments, and assist patients with financial responsibilities.
• Account Maintenance: Update demographics, correct inactive insurance information, and maintain accurate account records.
• Compliance & Documentation: Request medical records, ensure HIPAA compliance, and manage all correspondence efficiently.

Qualifications for the Insurance Verification Specialist:

• Education: Bachelor's degree preferred.
• Experience: 3 years in insurance verification, authorizations, or medical billing, with required experience in claims processing and payer systems.
• Technical Skills: Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word, and Windows-based systems, with the ability to quickly learn billing and insurance software platforms.
• Industry Knowledge: Strong understanding of insurance policies, prior authorization requirements, and medical terminology related to healthcare reimbursement.
• Skills & Attributes: Highly organized, detail-oriented professional with strong multitasking, communication, and problem-solving skills in a fast-paced environment.
