Job Overview – Financial Analyst (Consumer Products):

Compensation: $85,000 – $100,000/year bonus

Location: Durham, NC

Schedule: Monday to Friday (In-Office)

Atlantic Group is hiring a Financial Analyst (Consumer Products) in Durham, NC. In this role with our client, you will manage accounting, reporting, and FP&A functions while analyzing sales and inventory across wholesale, e-commerce, and direct-to-consumer channels. You will also resolve chargebacks and deductions, build Excel models for insights, and partner with sales, operations, and brokers to drive growth.

Responsibilities as the Financial Analyst (Consumer Products):

• Accounting & Reporting: Manage journal entries, reconciliations, accruals, and month-end close to ensure accurate financial reporting.
• Inventory & Sales Analysis: Reconcile transactions, investigate variances, and analyze sales performance across channels.
• FP&A Support: Contribute to budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis, delivering insights to guide decision-making.
• Dispute Resolution: Investigate and resolve deductions, chargebacks, and payment issues with retail partners.
• Financial Modeling: Develop and maintain Excel-based models, dashboards, and reports to track KPIs and support growth initiatives.
  
  

Qualifications for the Financial Analyst (Consumer Products):

• Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related business field required.
• Experience: 2-4 years in accounting or finance, with a background in consumer packaged goods (CPG) or retail strongly preferred.
• Technical Skills: Advanced Excel proficiency required, with ERP experience (NetSuite, Xero, Microsoft Dynamics, or SAP) preferred.
• Industry Knowledge: Familiarity with trade promotion management, deduction handling, and exposure to supply chain finance or demand planning analytics preferred.
• Skills & Attributes: Strong analytical and communication skills, with the ability to thrive in fast-paced environments and collaborate effectively across teams.
