Atlantic Group is hiring an Accountant in New Castle County, DE for our client, supporting month-end close, financial reporting, and account reconciliation activities within a corporate accounting environment. In this role, you will assist in preparing financial statements, analyzing variances, and maintaining compliance with GAAP and SOX requirements. You will collaborate with business units, FP&A, and audit teams while utilizing ERP systems and Microsoft Excel to ensure accurate and timely financial reporting.
Responsibilities as the Accountant:
- Month-End Close: Support the monthly close process by preparing journal entries and ensuring accurate and timely financial reporting.
- Financial Analysis: Review financial statements and analyze variances against prior periods.
- Reconciliations & Controls: Prepare account reconciliations and ensure compliance with SOX and internal controls.
- Reporting & FP&A Support: Prepare reporting packages and support budgeting and forecasting activities.
- Audit Support: Assist with internal and external audits by preparing documentation and responding to requests.
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting is required (MBA strongly preferred).
- Experience: Minimum 1 year of experience in public or corporate accounting with exposure to financial reporting and month-end close is required.
- Certification: CPA track is a plus.
- Industry Knowledge: Strong understanding of GAAP, FASB standards, and SOX compliance requirements.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in Microsoft Excel is required, and experience using ERP systems or financial reporting tools is preferred.
- Skills & Attributes: Demonstrates strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and maintain accuracy in financial reporting.
