The Atlantic Group has partnered with a large non-profit organization in the Manhattan area. They have an immediate need for a Controller to join their team. This position is a full-time contract role with the opportunity to become permanent based on performance.
Summary: $10M nonprofit organization focused on adoption services is searching for a Controller. This is a hands-on leadership role based in the Union Square / Gramercy area.
Work Schedule: 5 days a week in office
Interview Process: 3 rounds
Responsibilities
-Own the full accounting function including GL, month-end close, financial reporting, AP/AR, payroll, and budgeting
-Manage and mentor a team of 2
-Oversee grant reporting, restricted vs. unrestricted funds, and overall financial compliance
-Prepare and manage Form 990 and audit process (audit begins in August)
-Monitor cash flow and endowment activity
-Operate in a hands-on capacity, supporting day-to-day accounting as needed
Qualifications
-Bachelor’s degree required
-5-8 years of nonprofit accounting experience
-CPA strongly preferred
-Strong knowledge of fund accounting (restricted vs. unrestricted)
-Experience with audits, 990s, and grant reporting
-QuickBooks Online experience required (not desktop)
-Prior management experience
