Diesel Mechanic II
Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled Diesel Mechanic to join our team. The ideal candidate will have experience in heavy truck repair, with a background in diesel engine diagnostics, maintenance, mechanical diagnostics as well as electronic troubleshooting. This role involves diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining a variety of diesel-powered highway vehicles.
Duties
- Perform comprehensive diagnostics and repairs on diesel engines, transmissions, hydraulics, suspension systems, and air brakes
- Conduct routine maintenance such as oil changes, coolant flushes and shock replacements
- Repair and fabricate components using hand tools, power tools, welding, and soldering techniques
- Interpret schematics and technical manuals to troubleshoot electrical systems and complex mechanical issues and engine electronic diagnoses
- Operate or assist with the operation of heavy machinery such as a forklift and other industrial equipment
- Maintain service records and ensure all repairs meet safety standards and manufacturer specifications
- Perform or assist with assembly or disassembly of equipment for repair or upgrade projects which include major engine, transmission overhaul or replacement
Qualifications/Requirements
- 5 years experience with hands-on heavy duty truck diagnostic, repair and maintenance experience
- Strong knowledge of heavy truck diagnostics, mechanical systems, HVAC systems, and electrical and electronic troubleshooting
- Proficiency in reading schematics and technical manuals for complex machinery repairs
- Ability to operate hand tools, power tools, welding equipment, and perform heavy lifting safely
- Familiarity with service technician procedures for vehicle maintenance
- Knowledge of tractor-trailers and powertrain components such as transmissions and differentials
- Experience with Cummins Insite, Mack/Volvo PTT, Caterpillar ET, Detroit Diagnostic Link, Davie 4 Paccar as well as Wabco, Bendix and Haldex brake softwares. Experience with Allison Doc, Eaton Service Ranger etc. Experience with all software is preferred but not required.
- Pride in workmanship, reliability, honesty, willingness to learn and a team-oriented attitude is a must.
- Ability to work with minimal supervision and assist in training other team members
- Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
- Valid drivers license required, CDLs desirable but not required
Compensation
- Minimum of $25/hr dependent on previous experience

- Monday - Friday 8am- 5pm
