Overview
Southern CT (Stamford area) based field service technician responsible for troubleshooting and performing minor to major mechanical repairs on customer’s industrial equipment outfitted with Volvo Penta or Mercedes industrial engines. Technicians dispatched from home, primary work location at Port Newark, NJ. Company provided service truck, uniforms and specialty tooling.
Responsibilities
- Accurately trouble shoot and diagnose all diesel engine and after treatment issues.
- Work with parts department to identify and order parts necessary to complete repairs.
- Complete all work orders and time sheets in a legible, accurate and timely manner.
- Ability to work independently in a safe and efficient manner.
- Maintain a clean and safe work environment.
Qualifications
- A High School Diploma or GED required.
- A Technical degree or certification in a diesel engine program preferred.
- Preferably, candidates should have over 3 years of related experience, with a strong preference for those with Volvo Penta, Detroit or Mercedes industrial experience.
- Must have basic hand tools, both standard and metric, including torque wrenches.
- Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record a must
SKILLS & ABILITIES
- Basic computer navigation and utilization skills required.
- Ability to utilize laptop and portable diagnostic tools required.
- Experience Microsoft Office applications
- Ability to utilize the available time to organize and complete work within given deadlines
- Ability to communicate clearly and concisely, both verbally and in writing.
- Motivated and reliable with strong work ethic, cooperative team member
