About the Opportunity
Working closely with the President, Board, and leadership team, the Vice President provides executive leadership for financial planning and administrative operations. Key responsibilities include:
- Directing operating and capital budgets, long-range forecasts, accounting, financial reporting, treasury, investments, and the annual audit.
- Leading debt and capital financing, including bonds, notes, infrastructure financing, and equipment leases.
- Evaluating financial risks, capital investments, and funding strategies to support ACUA’s long-term financial sustainability.
- Ensuring sound internal controls and compliance with public finance requirements, accounting standards, and financing agreements.
- Providing executive oversight of human resources, payroll, benefits, risk management, and safety; leading assigned managers; and participating in collective bargaining and contract negotiations.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Finance, or Accounting.
- A valid New Jersey credential as a Registered Municipal Accountant, Certified Public Accountant, or Certified Municipal Finance Officer.
- At least five years of supervisory financial management experience involving accounting, budgeting, financial analysis, strategy, reporting, and debt management.
- Experience working with state agencies and boards governing authority finances, including the Local Finance Board and Department of Community Affairs.
- Experience directing permanent financing and making presentations to rating agencies, insurers, and bondholders.
- Valid New Jersey driver’s license in good standing.
A master’s degree and ten years of relevant experience, including five years in a supervisory capacity, are preferred.
