Summary/Objective
We are seeking an experienced Tekla Detailer to join our team and play a key role in producing high-quality structural steel fabrication drawings. Working under senior detailers, this position requires a strong understanding of fabrication and construction processes, as well as the ability to work collaboratively with engineers, project managers, and fabricators.
Essential Functions
- Create detailed 3D models and fabrication drawings for assigned projects using Tekla Structures
- Interpret structural and architectural drawings, specifications, and design intent
- Produce shop drawings, erection drawings, material take-offs, generate BOMs/NC files, follow company drawing standards and QA checklists
- Coordinate with senior detailers, engineers, project managers, and shop personnel to ensure accuracy and efficiency
- Review and check drawings for quality, completeness, and compliance with project standards
- Manage revisions and updates throughout the project lifecycle
- Assist in resolving design and fabrication issues
- 2 years of experience as a Tekla Detailer (structural steel)
- Advanced proficiency in Tekla Structures
- Strong knowledge of AISC, or relevant industry standards
- Ability to read and interpret construction documents
- Experience with clash detection and coordination
- Excellent attention to detail and problem-solving skills
- Strong communication and teamwork abilities
- 5 years of experience as a Tekla Detailer (structural steel)
- Experience working with fabrication shops or on-site construction teams
- Familiarity with BIM workflows and integration
- Works in a professional office environment and routinely uses standard office equipment
- Position may require visits to construction site
- Flexible work arrangements (if applicable)
- This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopier, filing cabinets and fax machine
- May require infrequent travel
