What are the responsibilities and job description for the Torch Cutter / Metal Cutter – Scrap Yard (Full-Time) position at Atlantic Coast Recycling Inc?
Job Summary
- Cut steel, aluminum, and heavy/oversized metals using oxy-acetylene torch.
- Safely dismantle vehicles, machinery, radiators, beams, and mixed scrap.
- Identify different types of metals (steel, cast iron, copper, aluminum, etc.).
- Operate in outdoor yard conditions (heat, dirt, dust, heavy equipment).
- Maintain equipment and ensure torch hoses, tips, and tanks are in good condition.
- Follow all safety procedures, PPE requirements, and proper handling of gas cylinders.
- Assist with yard work as needed (loading, organizing material, helping the team).
Requirements
- Experience cutting metal with oxy-acetylene torch required.
- Ability to work in hot, dusty, physically demanding environment.
- Must be responsible, punctual, and able to follow instructions.
- Must be able to lift 50–75 lbs when needed.
- Reliable transportation.
- English or Spanish OK.

Pay: $17.00 - $21.00 per hour
