Evening/Night Mechanic
Atlantic Coast Landscape Company is hiring an experienced mechanic to work evenings and nights, keeping our crews and equipment ready for the next workday.
This hands-on role focuses on mower maintenance, blade sharpening, two-cycle and small-engine repairs, along with service and maintenance for trucks, trailers, tools, and landscape equipment. You will diagnose mechanical issues, complete preventive maintenance, make repairs, and help ensure our production teams have safe, reliable equipment each morning.
Our fleet includes nearly 250 pieces of equipment, including trucks, commercial mowers, gas and diesel equipment, handheld power equipment, trailers, pumps, sprayers, and tools.
Key Responsibilities
- Diagnose and repair small engines, mowers, power equipment, trucks, trailers, and tools
- Sharpen blades and perform routine preventive maintenance
- Troubleshoot electrical, hydraulic, and mechanical issues
- Inspect crew trucks, trailers, and equipment
- Maintain accurate service and repair records
- Keep the shop clean, organized, and properly stocked
- Pick up parts and assist with occasional field repairs
- Prepare tools and equipment so crews can operate efficiently each day
Qualifications
- Small-engine or power-equipment mechanic experience required
- Strong knowledge of two-cycle and four-cycle engines
- Electrical and hydraulic troubleshooting experience
- Diesel experience is a plus
- Ability to read schematics and technical manuals
- Comfortable using power tools and specialty equipment
- Able to lift up to 70 pounds
- Strong problem-solving, organization, and communication skills
- Comfortable using a smartphone-based app
- Valid North Carolina driver’s license
Hours may vary based on seasonal workload.
